Service performance Lasting Power of Attorney
A lasting power of attorney (LPA) is a legal document that lets you appoint someone (known as an ‘attorney’) to make decisions on your behalf. The service is offered in both digital and non-digital formats.

Non-digital and digital applications over time

Non-digital applications include all applications made using the traditional paper based forms.
Digital applications include applications created using the Lasting Power of Attorney digital service.
Applications are counted at point of receipt.
Completion rate
Proportion of people who completed both parts of the digital service, 'Make an LPA' and 'Register an LPA'

Completion rate measures the proportion of people who started an application and were able to complete it.
It is calculated as percentage of unique visitors who arrived at the final page of the digital service out of those who arrived at the login page.
After using the digital service, users have further offline steps to complete, which this does not measure.

Shows significant stages only.
Number of visitors to stages a user goes through whilst making an LPA. Some stages may be repeated or returned to, as indicated by higher visitor numbers.

How often help buttons in the transaction were used last week

Help usage counts the number of unique visitors who clicked on each help button.

Page load time measures the time taken for a sample page within the service to load.
Uptime measures the percentage of time that the service was observed to be available.
